Che Eddie Vedder, al secolo Edward Louis Severson III, fosse un artista fuori dal comune era cosa ben nota a tutti. Nato ad Evanston (Illinois) il 23 dicembre del 1964, Vedder è conosciuto soprattutto per i suoi lavori con la band grunge/alternative rock dei Pearl Jam e, naturalmente, per essere stato uno dei personaggi di spicco della cultura grunge. L’artista statunitense ha dimostrato in più e più occasione di tenere a cuore il suo pubblico e che farebbe qualsiasi cosa per accontentarli. Una volta, infatti, Eddie Vedder staccò un assegno di 25 mila per pagare una multa e continuare a suonare fuori dall’orario consentito.

Strano, ma assolutamente vero, Eddie Vedder una volta rinunciò a 25 mila euro pur di proseguire a suonare durante un suo show. Certo, magari tale cifra per una star internazionale della musica può sembrare bassa, ma venticinque mila euro sono pur sempre venticinque mila euro. Il frontman dei Pearl Jam, come dicevamo, farebbe qualsiasi cosa per i suoi fan.
Il 9 giugno del 2017, infatti, Eddie Vedder fu costretto a pagare una multa di 25 mila euro per proseguire il suo spettacolo alla 3Arena di Dublino. Questo perchè le severe regole della 3Arena di Dublino impongono un limite d’orario per le esibizioni e, qualora tale orario non dovesse essere rispettato, scatterebbe in automatico una salatissima multa.
Insomma Eddie Vedder si trovò di fronte ad una scelta difficile: terminare il concerto in orario rispettando le regole imposte dalla 3Arena, oppure pagare una multa di 25 mila euro e continuare lo show come se nulla fosse. Il nostro saggio Vedder, naturalmente, scelse la seconda.
